Dr. Sharon Cathcart came to Washington to join North Spokane Women’s Health in the Fall of 1990. She attended college at St Olaf’s in Minnesota, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Cum Laude in Chemistry in 1980. She graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1984. She then completed a general rotating internship for one year followed by a four-year Obstetrics & Gynecology residency in 1989 from Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She moved to Springfield, Massachusetts where she worked for one year at Medical West of Baystate Medical Center. Her husband, Dr. Ken Cathcart, completed his two-year fellowship in Endocrinology at Baystate. Upon conclusion of their formal training they moved to Spokane.
Dr. Sharon Cathcart and her husband have two children. Aside from enjoying a busy practice, Dr. Cathcart thrives at being a busy mother. She and her two children have earned black belts in Tae Kwon Do. She loves the outdoors, especially walking and biking, and also enjoys traveling and photography.
Dr. Cathcart feels honored to work with women and their health issues. She is compassionate and tries to educate women to empower them to take good care of their bodies and understand when their health is not optimal. She enjoys caring for women throughout their life stages, from puberty through childbearing and menopause. Upon referral she also takes care of pediatric age girls who occasionally need specialized care.
