Dr. John McKenna was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and followed his father around until they settled in Spokane, where he grew up. He attended Gonzaga University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Chemistry, a minor in Philosophy and then obtained his Masters in Organic Chemistry at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. He then attended University of Washington Medical School and completed his residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. In 1994 he and his wife, Molly, and their three children, returned to Spokane to join North Spokane Women’s Health.
Dr. McKenna is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and he has enjoyed being active in clinical research since 1996.
He was active in the Boy Scouts with his boys and continues to enjoy the outdoors, especially snow skiing, bicycling and spending time on the water in the summer.
